The Church that Jesus is Building (pt 4)

Jesus said, “I will build My Church—and the gates of hell will not prevail against it!” (Matthew 16:18).

There are several powerful dimensions of His Church. One of those dynamics is: His Church partners with Him!

One of the clearest definitions of His Church is found in Ephesians 1:23. There the “church” is declared to be “the fullness of Him who fills everyone in every way!”

When Jesus calls us into seemingly impossible things (i.e., doing “greater works” than He did- John 14:12)—He welcomes us into partnership with Him! We are His “co-laborers” (1 Corinthians 3:9) joining with Him on a great “commission” (Matthew 28:16-20)! Notice the prefix “co” in both words—meaning to “jointly share in by taking responsibility together.”

We cannot create or bring His Kingdom to earth without Him! Although I love, honor, and greatly value His written Word, the Bible—we have something powerful in addition to His written Word. We have Jesus, the “Living Word,” living inside us! He teaches us His ways. He leads us in the right pathways. He opens doors that no one can shut. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. He gives us the words to say. He opens places of opportunity for us to say them. He fulfills His Word with signs and wonders happening through us.

All of these things, and more, flow through us as we move with Him! Ask Him for increased sensitivity to His voice and His heart as you partner with Him today!
