Praying Powerful Prayers (part 4)

Jesus’ model for prayer (i.e., The Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6) is key to experiencing our relationship with Him. It is one of childlike awe and intimacy. It is one of confident boldness and passion. But at its core—it is one of dependency and expectancy.

He literally taught us to declare, “You will give us each day our daily bread!”  At all times, He will supply all we need. Daily!

Prayer is more than an activity—it’s an attitude. A life-transforming perspective we live in! “Praying at all times” (Ephesians 6:18) involves living in dynamic intimacy with our Father! Our hearts thrive in that place of dependency and expectancy! We need Him! And we expect Him to move in our lives!

In the same way, we depend on His forgiveness! And we anticipate His love empowering us to forgive others. In this place of dependency on His mercy—we learn to extend that same mercy to others!

There we choose gratitude over grudges!  There we release others—refusing retaliation & revenge!

Today, as you pray, declare your renewed dependency on a Father who is so faithful!
